The Toyota Highlander Experience

The Highlander comes equipped with a 2.4L 4-cylinder turbocharged Double Overhead Cam (DOHC) 16-valve D-4S injection Atkinson-cycle-capable engine. It’s been paired with a Direct Shift-8AT 8-speed Electronically Controlled automatic Transmission (ECT). This configuration allows for power outputs of up to 265 horsepower, 310 lb-ft of torque, and when properly equipped, a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds.

The Stop and Start Engine System is included in this build as well. This feature allows the Highlander to conserve fuel by not idling at a stop. For example, when you come to complete stop, your engine will turn off as not to burn precious fuel; and when it’s time to move again, you just take your foot off the brake pedal and the engine will restart itself.

Drive Mode Select personalizes each driving adventure with Sport, Eco, Normal, and Snow modes available. If you’re concerned about maximizing your MPG, switch to Eco mode. When you feel the need for speed, select Sport mode and your Highlander will be tuned to a sporty disposition. Snow mode is great during heavy winters as it’ll give your Highlander extra protection over challenging terrain.

The cargo volume of the Highlander is impressive, giving you options depending on the size of your passenger group. When it’s just you and a passenger, you’ll have up to 84.3 cubic feet of cargo space to work with. A little larger group allots 48.4 cubic feet; and when you’ve got a packed house, 16 cubic feet of cargo volume.
